Pamela Forrest's paintings are strong, tender, exotic, mystical/mythical in seemingly endless variety. Mexico looms large. Her love for the country, its peoples, its deep history is evident in almost every one. They are the celebrations of a very large and loving spirit and so are also about the nature of spirit itself.

Pam's spiritual journey has led her through the labyrinths of many Mayan ruins and the old streets of small Yucatan pueblos. She spent 8 years of her journey in Playa del Carmen Mexico, and the village of Piste, Yucatan. Her paintings have been inspired by the strong and ever-present energy of the ancient Mayan culture. Her creative focus has been spiritually guided by the Goddess Ixchel.

I have just known you as an artist for 1 and a half year, but I am very impressed and LOVE what you do.
When I look at your paintings I see YOU:
I see beautiful colors - describes your energy
I see a kind of calmness and agreeable - describes your own connection, love and peace for the art
I see patience - describes how you take your time while painting
I see freehand painting - describes your free spirit and respect
I see a lot of details - describes your creativity, personality and experiences
And I see the Mexican and the Mayan culture - which has been a huge part of your life for many many years.
All of this makes your paintings original and unique.
What I like about the painting you gave me are the details, colors and all the different things happening. This painting gives me a really powerful interpretation. For me it describes life, outside and inside of someones mind.

The artwork of Pamela Forrest is a testament to her love of Mexico, and in particular the Mayan Culture. Living amongst peoples of the Yucatan, her creativity soared with the legends of the Maya, and her canvases are a mirror of those times.
